Youth Art Project
The purpose of the Youth Art Project is to provide more access for children to express themselves through the arts and to provide more access for the community to view this art. Click the Gallery button below to see what local youth have created recently!
Artist Workshops
Every June-October, we host free artist workshops that pair local professional artist with youth so children have the opportunity to learn how artists use their medium to express themselves and try it on! Through business sponsorships and individual donations these local artists get support, too! Contact youthartbaredfeet@gmail.com with any questions.

In 2018, youth learned Macrame from Kelsey Wenberg, drawing/painting in the style of Hundterwasser from Paula Gorski, drew local threatened birds, watched them be cut out of wood, and then painted them with Joe Mauer for a community mural, discovered the fascinating technique of Corrugated Sculpting with Ray Kaselau, and got to try their hand at building and tack-welding metal sculptures with Dean Glenzer. In 2019 we did Needle Felting with Blue Boxer Arts, Upcycling with Lynn Hicks, Illustration with Ms. Jeanne, and Joe Maurer and Dean Glenzer returned by popular demand! Their finished work is in the online gallery.

Art Competitions
Annually we have some form of an art competition to encourage youth to make art, and to help the community reflect on a current theme.
