  • Yoga (focuses on embodiment, balanced strength, & individual spirit)

  • Bartenieff-Fundamentals movement philosophies

  • Dance (inspired by Anne-Green Gilbert’s work, to build movement vocab, & healthy confidence/expression)

  • Child and movement development

  • Energy work

  • Mental health tools and education

  • Clean Eating

  • Spiritual Connection

Right to Wellness: BaredFeet, Co. believes that basic wellness education and arts experiences are human needs, and that all should have access to these programs regardless of their income, ability, or schedule.  Our programming reflects this -  most offerings are free or donation-based.

Our Board: A non-profit since 2017, our board members are professional artists and health practitioners who understand the importance of interdisciplinary wellness approaches and support our mission.

WHAT WE DO

We provide introductory self-empowered interdisciplinary wellness education, as free as possible to the community, through the arts, dance, yoga/movement fundamentals, mental health tools, clean eating, and spirit connection. This organic program is available to all ages – with a goal of bringing more balance, health, joy and self-confidence.

Special focus is given to children, young families, highly sensitive people, and those struggling with anxiety.  The arts ability to move the body, express the mind, and life the spirit gives it a great ability to heal, communicate and maintain.

An additional component is a performing arts company, an adult company and a youth troupe, with pieces that offer self-expression for the members and further education for the community.  This company additionally supports funding for the other programming.

OUR MISSION

To educate individuals, children, and families, on the relationship of body, mind, and spirit in health, on the ease and importance of taking care of all three, and with beginning information on managing wellness; to educate the greater Eau Claire community on the ability of the ARTS to potently aid in thriving health; and to allow wellness to be a priority for all regardless of income or ability or location.

OUR TERMS

Interdisciplinary Wellness is using more than one approach toward being in good health; approaching health from multiple areas at the same time, understanding that all systems work together.  BaredFeet, Co. offers and helps implement fundamental, preventative tools in spiritual health, nutrition, physical health, mental health, and all-ages health.

Arts-as-Wellness is offering the arts, all forms, with heavy focus on the health benefits of the arts as opposed to the technical skills.  While skills are still acquired, the focus is placed on understanding the individual’s needs and to encourage wellness over perfection.  Arts are a form of interdisciplinary wellness because they feed the spirit, integrate the mind, and, often, nourish the physical body.

OUR PRINCIPLES

1) breath is movement, so to live is to move.  the lack of movement is lack of life.

2) movement is an expression of and reaction to life, and is easier when the body/mind/spirit is free from tension.

3) the body/mind/spirit cannot be separated and all three need to equally be addressed, with compassion, when approaching health.

4) the mind is also, then, in the body and it is through this larger non-thinking mind  that we process life.
